Catalytic conversion of glucose to methyl levulinate over metal-modified Beta zeolites

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Methyl levulinate was selectively formed from glucose and methanol over a copper modified Beta zeolite bifunctional catalyst at 180 °C under argon atmosphere. The selectivity to methyl substantially exceeded previously reported in the open literature results. modification done through an ion-exchange method using solution of nitrate, followed by drying calcination catalyst. Copper changed distribution acid sites namely, less Brønsted more Lewis were observed with FTIR pyridine adsorption. Application proton form H-Beta-25 gave yield ca. 89%, which could be elevated addition copper, as apparent exceeds 99%, assuming that glucosides are eventually transformed levulinate. non-acidic Cu/SiO 2 completely inactive formation. Metal Sn Zn did not perform well Cu formation during transformation.

Catalytic Conversion of Glucose to Levulinate Ester Derivative in Ethylene Glycol

A comprehensive, kinetic experiment on the conversion of glucose to 2hydroxyethyl levulinate ethylene ketal (HLEK), in a cascade of reactions in ethylene glycol, catalyzed by low-concentration sulfuric acid, was conducted. The ethylene glycol/sulfuric acid system was found to be tolerant of a high glucose concentration, and no solid humins were created. At a high initial glucose concentration (...

Catalytic Cracking of Butene to Propylene over Modified HZSM-5 Zeolites

Catalytic cracking of butene to propylene was carried out in a continuous-flow fixed-bed reactor over HZSM-5 catalysts modified by nickel and phosphorus. The structure and acidity of catalysts were measured by N2 adsorption, NH3-TPD and XPS. The results revealed that surface area and strong acid sites both decreased with increasing phosphorus loadings. The increment of phosphorus loadings reduc...

Non-oxidative conversion of methane to aromatics over modified zeolite catalysts by transitional metals

The activity of different transitional metals over modified H-ZSM-5 catalysts for methane conversion to aromatics was compared. The first group of catalysts was Mo-impregnated H-ZSM-5 zeolites with 1, 3 and 6 wt% of Mo. The second group was M(3 wt%)- impregnated H-ZSM-5 (M: Ag, Cd, Cr, Mo, Zn and Mn). The catalytic activity of the first group was investigated at 600, 700 and 800 °C and gas hour...
